In autumn 2025, Microsoft introduced an update to the Business Central ERP system. The new version, Business Central 2025 wave 2 (BC 27), brings a host of new features designed to make work simpler and more efficient, particularly in the following areas:

  • Reporting and data analysis
  • Finance
  • Assets
  • Copilot and AI
  • Sustainability management
  • User interface

We have selected the most interesting new features for you. For a complete overview of the updates in Czech, see our document here.
You can also review the full list of new features on the official Microsoft website here (EN).

Improved Management of Unreliable VAT Payers

Business Central brings enhancements for the Czech localisation, streamlining the process of checking unreliable VAT payers and managing supplier bank accounts:

  • A Navigation section has been added to unreliable payer records, allowing direct access to the supplier’s bank accounts.
  • When using the “Create Supplier Bank Account” function from unreliable payer records, you can now set the newly created bank account as preferred. The bank account is then automatically added to the supplier’s card.
  • After loading updates from the unreliable payer register, the system displays an interactive dialogue, allowing the user to navigate directly to the Unreliable Payer Items page.

Alternative Employee Posting Groups

Liabilities and receivables related to employees can now be posted to multiple employee posting groups. This allows clear and accurate tracking of different types of costs: wages, travel expenses, advances, bonuses, etc. You can assign a different account to each cost type.

Bulk Creation of Fixed Asset Cards

When acquiring a larger quantity of the same type of asset, you can now specify the number of fixed asset cards to be created on the purchase invoice line. The asset cards are then automatically generated by copying the asset card entered on the purchase invoice line.

Enhanced Financial Reporting

Several significant improvements have been added to the reporting module in Business Central:

  • When changing the account name in the chart of accounts, you will receive a warning that the financial statement definition must also be updated.
  • Possibility to edit financial statement row definitions in Excel (export → edit → import). This functionality enables bulk editing, copying of structures, and faster updates.
  • Dynamic column headers in the financial statement column definitions.

Advanced Sales and Purchasing Analytics via Power BI

The new version of Business Central includes updates to the Purchasing Power BI and Power BI Sales applications, which work directly with BC data. The updates include:

  • Ready-made KPIs and dashboards for both sales and purchasing.
  • Revenue and cost prediction.
  • Deeper sales analysis: customers, items, projects.
  • Deeper purchasing analysis: suppliers, quality, costs.

Automated Emission and Scope 3 Tracking

Business Central now automatically tracks Scope 3 emissions across the entire value chain – from purchasing through production, assembly, and transfers, all the way to sales.

The system also calculates carbon equivalents (CO₂e) for sales and goods, monitors costs, and enables data assignment to projects.

Page and Report Search with Enhanced “Tell Me” Functionality

The new version of Business Central introduces improved search through the “Tell Me” feature, which leverages AI and is based on semantic search. It allows you to find pages, reports, and functions using descriptions, without needing the exact name. The feature also searches within tooltips.

Advanced search is only available for SaaS environments.
