Konica Minolta is reporting record-breaking results for 2024, confirming the success of its strategic focus on IT services and innovation. Overall, Konica Minolta in the Czech Republic has achieved revenues of CZK 2.5 billion and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of CZK 131 million. These figures represent the company’s best performance in Central and Eastern Europe, and the third most profitable branch in all of Europe.

One of the key factors behind this success was the 2015 acquisition of the Czech company Webcom, now known as Konica Minolta IT Solutions Czech, which contributed CZK 600 million to the final revenues.

“The investment in Webcom has unequivocally been Konica Minolta’s best acquisition in Europe. It has never operated at a loss or stagnated. It has always generated a profit, and since 2020, when Martin Pondělíček took over as Managing Director, its turnover has increased by 84%. Moreover, more than three-quarters of sales now come from value-added work—that is, the expertise of our employees in delivering new products, services, and bespoke development,” said Pavel Čurda, Managing Director of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Czech (KMBCZ).

A Broad Portfolio of Products and Services

Konica Minolta in the Czech Republic focuses on a wide range of products and services, including IT solutions, industrial printing, and camera technologies.

Its IT services include development, consultancy, and services in enterprise infrastructure, covering Microsoft Dynamics 365 and solutions based on Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Azure.

Together, IT services, camera systems, production printing equipment, and industrial printing technologies now account for approximately half of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Czech’s total turnover. The other half still comes from traditional office printing solutions. However, according to Managing Director Pavel Čurda, this share is expected to gradually decline as the company shifts its focus increasingly towards innovation and development in other areas.

“We install an average of six cameras per day in Czech businesses. These cover everything from traditional safety and property protection to automation in manufacturing and logistics, as well as monitoring and analysing people’s behaviour, for example, in retail or healthcare. Our technologies are used by companies such as CETIN, Zentiva, and Albert. Nevertheless, based on my personal experience in Japan, I believe the market potential is far from exhausted and, combined with the continued development of artificial intelligence, is virtually limitless.”  Pavel Čurda, Managing Director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Czech (KMBCZ)
