Nordic Summit 2025 – My Highlights from Gothenburg

Author: Martin Kozler, Power Platform Consultant, DIM, Konica Minolta IT Solutions Czech

Last week, I had the chance to attend the Nordic Summit 2025 in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was an inspiring community event that brought together professionals, experts, and enthusiasts from all over the world who are passionate about the Microsoft Power Platform

The atmosphere was full of energy, knowledge sharing, and new ideas. For me, it was not only a learning experience but also an opportunity to connect with people facing similar challenges in their organizations and exchange practical solutions that can really make a difference.

Power Automate performance

One of the most impactful sessions was led by Agnius Bartninkas, who focused on how to make flows faster and more efficient

We often build flows that work, but they are not always designed in the most effective way. Agnius demonstrated how concurrency, parallel branches, and batch updates can turn a slow process into a highly optimized one

What I really appreciated was the live comparison of poor design versus optimized design. It made it clear that these improvements are not just technical details. They have a direct impact on business outcomes because they save valuable time, reduce unnecessary API calls, and ultimately cut costs.

Smarter data collection

Another eye-opening session came from Resco, which presented its questionnaire player

It is a flexible tool that allows companies to collect data from customers, partners, or contractors on any device. The tool integrates with Dataverse and works seamlessly across Power Apps, Power Pages, and mobile CRM

What stood out to me was the ability to generate and prepopulate form templates with AI, and to embed them into external websites or portals. From a business perspective, this means that audits, field data collection, and customer feedback can be done in a structured, scalable, and user-friendly way. It is a solution that clearly bridges the gap between internal processes and external user engagement.

Power Pages in practice

Elvira Cekrezi shared her lessons learned from real-world projects on Power Pages. Instead of just focusing on technical steps, she highlighted the common pitfalls and practical workarounds that make customization safer and more effective

She showed how to handle API integrations, trigger Power Automate flows securely, and customize pages without breaking the underlying platform.

What I found most valuable was the honesty in her storytelling. It felt like learning directly from someone who has faced the same challenges and already found a way through. For anyone building customer-facing portals, these insights are priceless.

Enterprise-scale governance

Tomáš Prokop delivered a very important session on governance and DevOps for Power Platform

He explained how the new Git source control integration with Dataverse enables multi-developer collaboration in a structured way. This includes branching strategies, quality checks in pull requests, and automated deployments using Azure DevOps.

From a business perspective, this is critical. As more organizations scale their Power Platform solutions, governance becomes the difference between success and chaos. Tomáš made it clear that applying professional DevOps practices to low-code projects is no longer optional, but necessary for long-term stability and growth.

Integrations that scale

Carl Cookson and Mats Necker took us on a journey into the world of enterprise integrations

They started with the limits of Power Automate and explained why it is sometimes not the best choice for large-scale integration scenarios. They then showed how Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Functions can be used to build stable and scalable integrations with Dataverse.

For me, the key takeaway was that Power Automate is an excellent tool for many cases, but it is equally important to recognize when to switch to more advanced options. Making the right choice ensures not only performance but also long-term sustainability of the solution.

AI with full control

The final highlight for me was the session by Sean Astrakhan, who demonstrated how to remove the mystery around AI in Copilot Studio and Power Automate

By combining Azure AI Search, Azure Functions, and AI Foundry, he showed how companies can build AI solutions that are transparent, predictable, and fully under control

I was impressed by the live demos that proved how these tools outperform out-of-the-box connectors, and how fine-tuning can create an agent that literally speaks in the company’s own voice. This is no longer about experimenting with AI. It is about turning AI into a reliable business asset that supports daily operations.

Why it matters

Nordic Summit 2025 was not only about technical knowledge. It was about showing how the Power Platform is becoming a strategic enabler for organizations. Faster processes, smarter ways to collect data, secure integrations, enterprise governance, and transparent AI are not just buzzwords. They are capabilities that bring measurable value to companies that adopt them.

For me, the event confirmed that the Power Platform has matured into a business-critical toolkit. It allows companies to innovate faster, respond to customer needs more effectively, and scale their operations with confidence.

A big thank you to all speakers and the amazing community for creating such an inspiring event. I am already looking forward to the next Nordic Summit.
